Kris Kokame is the Communications Manager for Mālama Maunalua. She works as a Project Assistant at the East-West Center, where her department aims to bridge philanthropy between China and the US with a focus on topics such as education and sustainability. Kris is also pursuing her MBA at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Shidler College of Business. Her main passion lies in conservation, especially of native Hawaiian wildlife. She loves helping Mālama Maunalua’s educate and engage the community, especially because she grew up around Maunalua Bay and loves helping to conserve it. Kris also volunteers at the UH Native Hawaiian Tree Snail Lab, Bishop Museum Vertebrate Collection, and Audubon Freeman Seabird Preserve.
