Pam is the Director of Science and Planning, having been with MM since 2010. Pam grew up on the Jersey Shore where she developed her love for the ocean, and has since dedicated her academic and professional career to conservation. Pam has worked in many geographies on a wide range of topics from manatees in Florida, wetlands in Connecticut, vernal pools in California, bivalves in the Solomon Islands, coral reefs in Mexico, and more. Pam is particularly interested in the intersection of resource management/conservation, human livelihoods, and food security, which was the focus of her dissertation research. Pam has a B.A. in Geography from Vassar College, M.E.S in Conservation Biology from Yale University School for the Environment, and Ph.D. in Marine Science from the University of California at Santa Barbara.  Prior to coming to Mālama Maunalua, she spent seven years with The Nature Conservancy.
